Caring for Leicester & Leicestershire Families for Over 13 Years
We are Abbey Support & Services — a locally based, CQC-regulated home care team with deep roots in Leicester and a genuine commitment to the people we support.
Founded in 2013, Abbey Support & Services began with a clear and simple purpose: to provide the kind of care that we would want for our own families. More than 13 years later, that belief shapes every visit we make, every care plan we write, and every family we support across Leicester and Leicestershire.
We are not a national franchise. We are a Leicester team — local people, caring for local people.

Our Story — How Abbey Support & Services Began
The Beginning
Abbey Support & Services was founded in Leicester in 2013 with a belief that remains at the heart of everything we do: that people deserve to remain at home, in the surroundings they love, with the support they need to live safely and independently.
From the very beginning, we chose to build something rooted in the local community rather than a national model. Our founders understood Leicester and Leicestershire — its neighbourhoods, its families, its character — and they built a care service to reflect that.
Growth & Evolution
What began as a small team providing personal care and companionship in and around Leicester has grown into a comprehensive home care service covering a wide range of needs — from dementia and palliative care to live-in support and hospital discharge care.
Throughout that growth, we have remained true to our founding principles: small enough to care deeply, experienced enough to care expertly.
Where We Are Today
Today, Abbey Support & Services supports hundreds of families across Leicester and Leicestershire. We are proud to be a CQC-regulated provider, consistently recognised by the families we serve, and trusted by private clients, direct payment users and NHS-funded individuals alike.
We are not standing still. We continue to invest in our team, our training, and our processes — because the people who trust us with their care deserve nothing less.
"We built Abbey to be the kind of care provider that we would want for our own parents. Thirteen years on, that has never changed."

The Values That Guide Everything We Do
Our values are not words on a wall. They are the principles our carers carry into every home they visit and every conversation they have with a family in Leicester or Leicestershire.
Dignity
We treat every person in our care as an individual — with their own history, preferences and personality. Dignity is never compromised, whatever the level of support required.
Compassion
Care delivered without compassion is just a task. We train our team to listen, to empathise, and to genuinely connect with the people they support and the families who love them.
Consistency
Familiar faces matter enormously in home care. We work hard to ensure continuity — the same carer, the same routines, the same level of trust — visit after visit.
Transparency
We communicate clearly and honestly with families, carers and health professionals. If something needs to change, we say so. If something has gone well, we share that too.
Respect
Every client has their own way of doing things, their own preferences, their own boundaries. We respect those absolutely — always asking, never assuming.
Meet the People Behind Abbey Support & Services
Our team is what makes Abbey different. Every person who works with us shares the same commitment to providing outstanding, compassionate care.

[Director / Registered Manager]
Registered Manager & Director
Our Registered Manager oversees all care quality, compliance and team development, and remains personally involved in the service day to day. With years of experience in the care sector, they founded Abbey Support & Services with a clear vision: to create a home care provider that puts people first — always.
[Care Coordinator]
Senior Care Coordinator
Our Senior Care Coordinator coordinates care packages across Leicester and Leicestershire, working closely with clients, families and carers to ensure every care plan is running smoothly. They are often the first person families speak to when they get in touch.

Our Carers — What We Look For
We recruit carers who share our values — not just our job description. Every member of our care team is:
- Fully DBS-checked (enhanced disclosure)
- Trained in mandatory and care-specific modules before their first visit
- Supervised regularly and supported with ongoing professional development
- Matched carefully to clients based on personality, skills and experience
- Passionate about genuinely making a difference

What CQC Registration Means for Your Family
The CQC assesses all registered providers against five key questions:
Safe — Are people protected from harm and abuse?
Effective — Does care, treatment and support achieve good outcomes?
Caring — Do staff involve and treat people with compassion, dignity and respect?
Responsive — Is the service organised so it meets the needs of the people it supports?
Well-led — Is the leadership supporting the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care?
We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of compliance at all times. Our Registered Manager holds primary responsibility for CQC compliance and works closely with the full team to ensure our service consistently meets and exceeds regulatory requirements.

Our Commitment to Quality Care — Every Visit, Every Day
Registration and compliance provide the framework. But our real commitment to quality is demonstrated in the small things — the way our carers listen, the way we communicate with families, the way we respond when something needs to change.

Tailored Care Plans
Every client begins with a thorough, face-to-face assessment. The care plan we create is personal, detailed, and reviewed regularly — adjusted as needs evolve, not left to gather dust.
Open Family Communication
We keep families informed and involved at every stage. Whether it is a regular update call, a carer handover note, or a conversation about a changing need, we believe in honest and proactive communication.
Ongoing Staff Training
Our carers do not simply complete an induction and stop learning. We invest in regular training — from dementia care and medication management to moving and handling and end-of-life support.
Regular Service Reviews
We schedule formal reviews of every care package to ensure it continues to meet the client's needs. If circumstances change, we adapt quickly — because reactive care is not good enough.
At Abbey Support & Services, quality is not a department. It is a daily commitment made by every person on our team — from the management office to the front door of every home we visit across Leicester and Leicestershire.
What Families Say About Our Team
We are proud of the relationships our team builds with the families of Leicester and Leicestershire.
"From the very first meeting, we knew we were in safe hands. The team took the time to really understand my mother — her likes, her routines, her sense of humour. That kind of care cannot be faked."
— James R.
Son of client, Evington
"What strikes me most about Abbey is the consistency. My father has the same carers, the same routine, and genuine relationships with the people who visit him. It has made an enormous difference."
— Patricia W.
Daughter of client, Oadby
"The management team are as impressive as the carers. They communicate well, respond quickly when needed, and genuinely care about getting it right. I would not hesitate to recommend them."
— Andrew S.
Son of client, Wigston
